Hi, we’re Mark and Kate, the founders of My Health Assistant. We created this platform because we believe that everyone deserves easy, timely access to healthcare, and we need your support to help people in your area who are struggling to book local health appointments
We’re incredibly fortunate in the UK to have dedicated healthcare professionals and some of the best GPs in the world. However, it’s hard to ignore the headlines—our healthcare system is under pressure. Demand for services is growing, but resources remain limited.
Many people face long waiting times, uncertainty, and frustration when trying to access care. At the same time, there is capacity in the private sector that could be one solution to helping bridge this gap. Our goal is to make healthcare access simpler, clearer, and more efficient—helping both the public and healthcare professionals connect more easily.
The inspiration for My Health Assistant came from our own experience as parents. When our daughter started primary school, it became clear she needed additional support. After speaking with her school and our GP, she was referred to CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services)—but we were told the waiting list was nine months long.
We couldn’t bear to see her struggle when we knew help was available. Determined to find a solution, we researched private options and found a local professional who could see her in just two weeks. That one appointment made a world of difference—she’s growing into a confident, happy, and thriving young girl.
When we shared our story with friends and family, we realized so many others were facing the same challenges. The issue wasn’t a lack of information—there’s plenty of it out there—but rather knowing where to turn, whom to trust, and how to navigate the system.
That’s why we built My Health Assistant—to empower people with a trusted, easy-to-use platform that connects them directly with qualified healthcare professionals for non-critical services. By breaking down barriers and making it easier to book appointments, we can help:
